The declaration of University Grants Commission result of NET exam held on 24th June, 2012 has enmarked the full swing for the preparation of the December exam.. In the last exam more than 7 lakh candidates (7,07,009) got registered for this examination out of which 5,71,627 appeared. A total of 43,957 candidates have qualified for the eligibility of Lectureship. The success rate was 8%.
For final preparation of result only those candidates who have obtained minimum required marks separately in each of the three papers, (i.e., 40% in Paper-I & II and 50% in Paper-III for general category;
...and 35% in Paper-I & II and 45% in Paper-III for OBCs; and 35% in PaperI&II and 40% in Paper-III for SC/ST/PWD category) were considered
The minimum qualifying criteria for Lectureship eligibility for general category candidates was 65% (aggregate percentage of all the three papers).
...It was 60% and 55% for OBC and SC/ST/Persons with Disability candidates respectively. Out of 43,957 candidates, 3625 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship.
NET-June, 2012 was conducted completely in objective mode in 78 subjects spanning our 74 centres across the country.
The candidates were allowed to carry a copy of the OMR answer sheets on conclusion of the examination. Also, UGC uploaded the answer keys and question papers on its website and invited online feedback from the candidates.
The answer keys were re-examined and updated wherever necessary before finalization of result.
The number of candidates registered for previous NET examination held in December, 2011 was 3,90,115 out of which 2,65,930 candidates appeared. The number of qualified candidates for eligibility for Lectureship was 13859 including 3237 JRFs. Hence, it may be seen that there is an unprecedented increase in the number of candidates who have registered, appeared and qualified in NET held in June, 2012.
